Sometimes I want to think I do things all so differently from other photographers. And the Palace of Fine Arts seems so over-done. But, as the rain came and we scurried to find a sheltered outdoor spot in San Francisco, the Palace of Fine Arts with its giant dome sounded reasonable. (As it turned out, its height let rain enter sideways and it was a veritable wind tunnel!) I was humbled, though: by the revelation that so many photographers can't be wrong. The beauty and inspiration of the Palace of Fine Arts is incredible. And there I was, being a typical photographer, but on a unique day, with a unique couple, as a unique artist. And I will happily go back again.
When the wind and rain really did drive us away, we headed to North Beach, to Bocce Cafe, where Jessica and Michael went for dinner to celebrate on the day of their engagement.
